Choosing the right school or program for your child is among the most important decisions you will ever make as parents.
As educational consultants, our primary role is to help you and your family make a sound, informed choice of a school or therapeutic program. Our focus is first on your child’s strengths, needs, aptitudes, and interests – and then on what schools or programs will serve them in the best possible way.
Our first step is to learn about your son or daughter. In addition to gathering school reports and test scores, we meet with you and your child (if possible) for a complete review of your child's school and personal history. If necessary, we will recommend further individual testing for a more complete picture. We will contact your child’s current school and talk with teachers and counselors there, as well as with other adults who know your child well.
With this information, we generate a list of appropriate schools or programs for you to consider. In most cases, we have visited these places and referred other families, so we have first-hand knowledge of the unique mission and personality of each. We will call them for you to discuss your son or daughter with the admissions staff, and walk with you through the entire process of screening and choosing the best program. We stay in constant touch with the various admissions offices, and with you, until you make your final choice. We also follow the progress of each student we place for at least a year, remaining in contact with both the family and the school or program.
